Licence of your images
[ред.]I recommand not to use the CC-licence for your emblems. I know, that is the standard licence if you upload a file, but in the case of an emblem, you just redraw an existing picture which is usually in the public domain. Please use a PD-Template you find for example in Category:PD-exUSSR-exempt license tags.--Antemister (talk) 09:19, 22 October 2012 (UTC)
Coat of arms of The Khmer Republic
[ред.]After you drew a SVG of Cambodias emblem during the UNTAC administration, is it possible for you to vectorize File:Coat of arms of The Khmer Republic.jpg. This is the last one missing in the row of SVGs of cambodian emblems.--Antemister (talk) 14:25, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
Sources
[ред.]What are your sources for the Chinese administrative maps you uploaded today?--Antemister (обговорення) 13:15, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Antemister, the maps I uploaded today are some of my work finished a few months ago, although I have the source image on my computer, the source link are failed to be found. However I find my second one is based on the second page of 新政権の経済的建設. (昭和13, PD). I've added this link to the file description page. The Manchukuo maps are based on a scanned Chinese 1940s map (which is PD-China). Unfortunately I can't find the image on Internet by now, but you may have the divisions seen from [1] (1940 divisions, a few provinces added). I can also send you my source for your further concern. --Ericmetro (обговорення) 14:35, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- OK, thank you for the information. Please always add sources - reusers do not like to look for them a second time (in this case, it is completely impossible to do so for western users). A I also do have some (western) Manchukuo administrative divisions maps here. Another topic, just accidential, but it fits into your recent uploads: Searching for the emblem of the Mengjiang state, I found [2], looking at the third photo, you find an impressed seal improved version. Could it be the government's seal? Can you read ("guess") the characters (or, at least know someone who is familiar with traditional ones), and redraw it (should not be that difficult)?--Antemister (обговорення) 22:22, 18 December 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you for the information and I've been looking for Mengjiang state symbols for a time. Unfortunately, I think the seal is more likely to be a police related authorities seal. I've seen the similar design on Manchukuo documents, which has text in the center and surrounding wheats (usually sorghum, the national flower of Manchukuo). The text on the seal from the two images is hardly recognizable. --Ericmetro (обговорення) 12:14, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
- Ah, OK. BUt now it is your hint of a "similar design on Manchukuo documents" that lead my view on File:MENG_CHIANG_BANK_5_CHIAO_1938.jpg (higher res.), that show an emblem that is in fact quite similar to the Manchukuo state emblem. What about this?--Antemister (обговорення) 13:58, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
- I think this seems to be a decoration pattern only, as this symbol only appeared on coins and I didn't see this symbol on other sources. In fact I even doubt whether Mengjiang state had a emblem. --Ericmetro (обговорення) 11:59, 23 December 2014 (UTC)
- A I am pretty sure that some kind of government seal did exist, as we already found two ones of minor authorities. I also do research on that topic, but that's difficult to do so in Europe, as few western literature and practically no original sources is available there. I found two journals, Mengjiang Xinbao and Mengjiang Xinwenshe and german library catalogs, practically the only ones with "Mengjiang" in their title. How would you translate them?--Antemister (обговорення) 09:58, 29 December 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you for your answer, I also forgot the request. I'll have a look at that papers, although I do not know if this is possible in the near future. BTW: Are the colors of the File:Twelve Symbols national emblem of China.svg final right now? They seem to be unusually gaudy, are these the historically correct ones?--Antemister (обговорення) 19:51, 13 April 2015 (UTC)

German Urburschenschaft flag request (copy from Wikipedia page)
[ред.]Hi Ericmetro, I have noted that you are a very skilled SVG artist with an interest in history and flags. Perhaps you are interested, if you find the time, to make a vector version of the historic German “Urburschenschaft” (Original Student Fraternity) flag found here:
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Fahne_der_Urburschenschaft.JPG (has to be rotated 90° clockwise)
The flag has no copyright, as it is from the early 19th century. It played an important role in German flag history (it lead to the spread of the national colors), yet there isn’t a single vector version available. It’s a simple red-back-red flag, the only complicated thing is a superimposed detailed golden oak branch. If there are doubts regarding the colors, I recommend using those of the black-red-gold German national flag. The proper Commons category for the flag would be https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:SVG_flags_-_historical_of_Germany Thank you for your work. Equality 7-2522 (обговорення) 07:46, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you for your work, Ericmetro. The quality is amazing, and I do look forward to use it at the English and German Wikipedia once I have the time. --Equality 7-2522 (обговорення) 19:57, 27 December 2014 (UTC)
- What might happen if a Burschenschafter finds out that the flag was drawn by a Chinese...?--Antemister (обговорення) 17:28, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
Imperial chinese Flags
[ред.]Maybe you have already seen en:Wikipedia:Graphics_Lab/Illustration_workshop#Flags_of_Qing_China, I was delighted laerning that they are vectorized now. Same question to you now, what do think about 1) the color shades, 2) the dragons of the 1889-1912 flag. Can you find photograps of the flags in the web?--Antemister (обговорення) 11:08, 3 May 2015 (UTC)
- Really, your reply provided another important information to me. I do have a (not very reliable) german book containing thousands tiny black/white drawing of coats of arms of cities and countries, and it shows for imperial China a dragon symbol (see [3], the website is based on that book). Now I also see it in the US flagbook you linked [4]. Do you know if it was really the official emblem?
- BTW: Please do answer the questions on your talk page, this switching is confusing for me and even more for other readers.--Antemister (обговорення) 16:51, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
- @AntemisterYes this coat of arm alike dragon symbol is called "蟠龙" in Chinese culture, and is commonly seen on imperial buildings. It seems to me the Qing dynasty of China didn't adopt an official decree on coat of arms(the flag and anthem did). This symbol is used on lately made coins:[5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12]
- The redrawn one is one of the modern rendition, and some of the details are seen in the historical photos. Here's one of the modern replica in a museum: [27]. --Ericmetro (обговорення) 15:40, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
- OK, thanks for the many pictures! I assume, we should drop this "modern" rendition, not by deleting the flag itself, but the mentioning that it is a more modern than contemporary depiction. Another question: I now download the the flagbook you mentioned above completey, and only one page later you find a panlong emblem with some chinese characters which a declared to the the "coat of arms" (although it is no coat of arms in the western sense, of course). Do you know about the status, and what do the characters means?--Antemister (обговорення) 21:05, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Antemister I've checked the "coat of arms" on the US naval flag book, but I think it still need much more evidence to prove it's the coat of arms of Qing dynasty. I've never seen it on other occasions. The Chinese characters are written in Seal script, that is much different from standard Chinese characters. I'm able to tell "大清[ ]統" (means"Great Qing [unknown] United), but the character on the right is hardly to be identified. --Ericmetro (обговорення) 16:20, 17 May 2015 (UTC)

Mengjiang
[ред.]I had a look into these Mengjiang Xinbao and Mengjiang Xinwenshe papers and scanned some pages were I found images that look like emblems. Maybe you can have a look into and check if you can identify one. You have to send me a Wikimail before, as it is not possible to attach files using Wikimail.--Antemister (обговорення) 12:29, 18 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Antemister Many thanks for your efforts! It will be my pleasure to see if we can made some new discovery on the Mengjiang symbols. I would send you a Wikimail now. --Ericmetro (обговорення) 17:09, 18 July 2015 (UTC)
Gioventù Italian del Littorio
[ред.]Hi Ericmetro, I saw your logo of ONB, great job! I'm writing you to know if you can create a logo of another Italian fascist youth organization, GIL. Here there's a logo of the organization: logo. Thank you very much! -- Nick.mon (talk) 19:15, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
- Your welcome! Yes it was difficult also for me to find that image, but I found that seal on three websites and I'm almost sure that it was the correct logo of GIL. Thanks for your job! -- Nick.mon (talk) 10:12, 3 October 2015 (UTC)
Sorry, but I have one last question for you. When you want and when you will have time, should you create also the logo of the Italian Communist Youth Federation (FGCI)? Here there is the logo: [28] (bottom left). Thank you! -- Nick.mon (talk) 16:36, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
Two Coat of Arms Requests
[ред.]Hello Ericmetro.
I have seen that there are two coats of arms that lack SVG vector versions, despite such vectors would be needed. As I find your works very well done and detailed, I figured that I could ask you to create them.
The first coat of arms is this file: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wappen_Preu%C3%9Fen.png
"This coat of arms image could be recreated using vector graphics as an SVG file." It's in the "Top 200 coat of arms images that should use vector graphics", yet since almost a decade no-one has bothered to make a vector file.
To my confusion, there is a SVG version available, as a part (!) of https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Coat_of_Arms_of_East_Prussia.svg However, the shield is not available as a separate file and it isn't an exact rendering of the PNG file linked above. It may provide certain details, like the crown. To be perfectly honest, I don't like the eagle in the SVG and prefer the one in the PNG. So the point of my request is to make an exact vector copy of the PNG file, using some elements of the SVG which is currently available. (This is possible according to the licensing.)
The second coat of arms is https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Sudetenland_wappen.gif of which no exact copy exists as an SVG despite its design is rather simplistic. The file is not protected by copyright and used on several language editions of Wikipedia, so replacing it with an SVG would be advised. If you need additional sources, there are pictures of it at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Heiligenhof_05.JPG https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Burg_Hohenberg_Infotafel.JPG and https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Sudeten-Gedenktafel_%28Linz%29.jpg
There is an SVG available at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Reichsgau_Sudetenland_Coat_of_Arms.svg but this is for a historic territory within Nazi Germany using simliar symbols, while the coat of arms requested above represents an ethnic group and looks different, so the two are not to be confused.
If you create those SVG files, please make sure that you put them in the same categories on Wikimedia Commons as the original files, and that you attribute the original authors. And please grant the same license terms as the orginal non-SVG files have, so that the new SVGs can properly replace them without licensing issues, and that they can be used in the same way and at the same places.
This isn't a pressing issue - as you can see no-one bothered to make SVGs in all those years. I consider it as tying up a few loose ends. If you intend to do it, take your time and thanks in advance.--Equality 7-2522 (обговорення) 10:58, 18 November 2015 (UTC)
SVG Request
[ред.]Hi Ericmetro, You are really good vectoriser so I would like to ask you for do this emblem or fix this my try: . I would appresiate this a lot. THANK YOU! --ThecentreCZ (обговорення) 19:18, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
Some symbols
[ред.]Hi Ericmetro, how are you? I should ask you something...could you create a better version of the logo of National Alliance and also a logo for the Italian Nationalist Association (here there are some version of the logo which is an eagle). Thank you very much! -- Nick.mon (talk) 12:53, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
Wikimedia User Group China logo
[ред.]Hi there - I noticed you uploaded File:Wikimedia User Group China-en.svg under the CC BY-SA 3.0 license. The original logo is ineligible for copyright due to being simple, as would be any text added to the logo. If it's all right, I'd like to remake the Wikimedia User Group China logo with тагальська. Let me know if this is or isn't okay with you. Thanks, ~Kevin Payravi (talk) 04:43, 3 March 2016 (UTC)
Flags of Tuva
[ред.]Since I saw your corrections of several soviet flags the last weeks. I have soem simialr requests for tuvan flags - could you do them?--Antemister (обговорення) 09:04, 14 May 2016 (UTC)
- Hi @Antemister, I suppose you mean the flags in Category:Flags of the Tuvinian People's Republic. I'm not sure if I have time to work on complicated flags these days, but feel free to let me know and I'll see if I can help in the future. Regards--Ericmetro (обговорення) 09:05, 15 May 2016 (UTC)
No, the complicated work is done for years, its only about some minor corrections, which have not been done yet
There are two different variants of the flags/emblems, for which different font types and sizes are used at the moments for the both variants of the emblem. Please equalize them.[29] and [30] show the arrangement of the letters, which is already correct. Then, two CoAs are still missing, File:Coat of arms of the Tuvan ASSR (1962-1978).svg as well as File:Coat of arms of the Tuvan ASSR (1978-1992).svg. Create them using File:Coat of arms of Crimean ASSR.svg or File:Coat of arms of Kalmyk ASSR.svg for example. For the text use File:Flag of Tuvan ASSR (1978-1992).svg and PYGY TELEGEJNIŅ PROLETARLARЬ, KATTЬƵЬŅAR! and ПРОЛЕТАРИИ ВСЕХ СТРАН, СОЕДИНЯЙТЕСЬ! and PCФCP. I've sent you an article with further details.--Antemister (обговорення) 14:21, 15 May 2016 (UTC)
- Hi @Antemister, I got your message. Unfortunately my real life is quite busy these days, I'll see what I can do when I get time. Regards. --Ericmetro (обговорення) 14:30, 16 May 2016 (UTC)
Old Emblem of Korean People's Army
[ред.]I found this symbol:
https://www.nknews.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Screen-Shot-2016-11-11-at-13.13.30.png
from
https://www.nknews.org/2016/11/men-in-uniform-north-koreas-rank-insignia/
Would this be the color version of:

--Kyuzoaoi (обговорення) 17:48, 18 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Kyuzoaoi, many thanks for the information. I do believe this could be a possible color version of the previous emblem, based on the source of the current file on Wikipedia [31]. --Ericmetro (обговорення) 13:11, 19 December 2016 (UTC)

Soviet flags
[ред.]Hi Ericmetro, I just uploaded the two new flags that I added on here which I found on there. Would you do some corrections to it as well as fix the hammer and sickle on these? Supreme Dragon (обговорення) 18:48, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
Presidential standards of the Soviet Union and the Soviet republics.
[ред.]Hi again Ericmetro, I created the RSFSR standard as seen here. Would you mind create all of the banners based on the other 14 republics and research them here and here? Try looking for those presidential banners in Russian as well with the reverse part had Lenin on them. Supreme Dragon (обговорення) 20:50, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
